Musiktage am Rhein
Musiktage am Rhein was founded in 2018 after the success of the Casalmaggiore International Festival. The aim of Musiktage am Rhein, however, is different. Here, the Mainzer Virtuosi, a young and vibrant string orchestra founded and directed by Prof. Anne Shih, hones their remarkable skills and knowledge and passes it on to the younger generation.
Amongst the backdrop of the romantic Rhein which inspired great music and art alike, the location brings together 16 - 19 members of the ensemble to foster cultural exchange between East and West, old and young. Concerts are held in beautiful and historic venues in Neuwied-Engers and in neighbouring towns.
Short day trips provide students with deeper understanding of German culture and language. Our distinguished faculty contribute to the general atmosphere of mentorship, guidance and excellence.
Musiktage am Rhein is generously supported by the Landesmusikakademie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Eckes Stiftung, and the Pro Viva Stiftung.
